Kurseong
is a town in Darjeeling district in the northern part of West Bengal, India. It
is the little sister of the Queen of the Hills further up the track. The quiet town
is an up and coming tourist destination and this is an ideal place to relax and
unwind from the hectic pace of urban life. The town is home to many temples and
some of them are Gidapahar Durga Mata Mandir, Ambhotia Shiva Temple and Jadgish

Known for its natural beauty, Kurseong has a number of scenic sights. Eagle’s
Craig which is a kilometre hike up the hill, is a popular tourist spot and
offers amazing view of the lush green valley and the river Teesta. St Mary’s
Hill is another popular scenic location amidst the beautiful forest and is at a
distance of 4 km from the Kurseong Railway Station. There is a statue of Jesus
and Mary and a beautiful church in St Mary’s Hill.

Hill:
A popular tourist site in Kurseong, Dow Hill has a lot of attractions to offer.
With a beautiful Deer Park, a Forest Museum, a mini amusement park which is a

Bhangzang
Salamander Lake:
It is located 14 km from Kurseong. In the past, it used to be a favorite place
for the British and people from the neighboring towns used to hang out here
frequently. A relatively unknown getaway among the tourist destinations in
Darjeeling brought to you by naturebeyond. It is a beautiful green-tinged lake
that shelters the rarest and most endangered species of salamanders – a species
under threat of extinction.
Eagle
Craig:
Eagle Craig, this place offers you with mesmerizing views of hills, slopes,

Reach Kurseong:
Kurseong is 47 km from Siliguri and is connected to the city by road and the
Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. The nearest airport is at Bagdogra.The nearest
major railway station is New Jalpaiguri, which is about 53 km from Kurseong.
