Kalimpong is a hill station in the Mahabharat Range in the Indian state of West Bengal. It's, located on a ridge overlooking the Teesta River, is a tourist destination owing to its temperate climate and proximity to popular tourist locations in the region. Horticulture is also important to Kalimpong. There are many things about Kalimpong which makes it perfect for holidays. Kalimpong offers panoramic views of the great Himalayan ranges and of the Kanchenjunga peak. Places to visit in Kalingpong:
Lava: Lava is a small hamlet situated 34 kilometres east of the town of Kalimpong via Algarah in Darjeeling district of the state of West Bengal, India. The views of Jelep-la and Rechi-la passes are very attractive from this province. Lava is a quiet and romantic place as it is situated in the dense forest of Pine and Juniper. Lava has been on the birding map for many years. The best spot around Lava for birding walk is in the Rachet Reserve Forest, Rangbang Valley, Upper Rishi Valley, and Neora Valley, providing good birding treks.
Pedong: This Place situated 20 kms away from Kalimpong in West Bengal is a picturesque place surrounded by pine forests. From this place, you can enjoy the magnificent views of the snow-capped Mount Kanchenjunga. Located on the ancient Silk Route, this place is ideal for adventure enthusiasts. Several trekking trails originate from Pedong on the way to the Damsang Fort.
Neora Valley National Park: Established in 1986, the park is spread over about 88 square km and is located at a woody forest area near Lava in the majestic foothills of the Himalayan Ranges in Kalimpong. Bhutan and the lush green forests of Sikkim border this National Park. Wild animals freely moving in this park include red Panda, Himalayan black bear, tiger, wild dog and goral. Neora valley is a beautiful picnic spot for nature lovers.
Lepcha Museum: Lepcha Museum & Monastery located in Big Dhara, is one of the best places to learn about the culture of Lepcha community. The museum showcases manuscripts, musical instruments and articles of worship along with other equipment belonging to the community.
Mangal Dham: Mangal Dham, a temple located in the beautiful town of Kalimpong, was built in 1993. The temple was constructed by Shri Krishna Pranami,a Hindu sect and in the memory of late Guru Shri 108 Mangaldasji. Sprawling over an area of 2 acres of wooded land, this temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna.

By Air: Bagdogra Airport is 80 km (3 hours) from Kalimpong. LOCAL AIRLINES: Indian Airlines; Jet Airways
By Road: Kalimpong is connected with all weather metalled road with Siliguri, Gangtok, Darjeeling etc.
By Rail Way: The closest Railhead is at New Jalpaiguri which is around 77 km away from Kalimpong.
