Jhalong is an offbeat tourist destination in the state of West Bengal near Kalimpong. The place is increasingly becoming popular among adventure enthusiasts and those who are interested in nature vacations. The place is situated along the foothills of the Himalayas and there are numerous activities that you can engage in. The Jhaldaka River flows near the place and a hydro electric project has been started recently. Another major attraction of the region is Bindu Dam, which operates water supply to the project and serves as a bridge for crossing over to Bhutan. Cardamom Curing Centre and Godak are the other major attractions in the area. The best time to visit Jhalong is during the post monsoon season, in October and November.
