Places to Visit at Bhutan Ghat:
Buxa Fort: Buxa Fort, is located at an altitude of 867 metres in the Buxa Tiger Reserve, Jalpaiguri district, West Bengal. The fort lies 7 km from the Buxa Road and was regarded as a refuge for the refugees during the unrest in Tibet. It is believed that this fort served as the point of contention between the Cooch Kings and the King of Bhutan. Buxa is one of the earliest forts in Eastern India. The Bhutan King used the fort to protect the portion of famous Silk Route connecting Tibet with India, via Bhutan. Still later during unrest in Occupation of Tibet, hundreds of refugees arrived at the place and used the then abandoned fort as refuge.
Rajabhatkhawa: Rajabhatkhawa is a small town situated just outside the Buxa Tiger Reserve in the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal, India. It is known for its natural beauty, surrounded by forest. The sightseeing attractions in Rajabhatkhawa are plenty. It is a storehouse of flora and fauna. Rajhabhatkhawa is surrounded by dense forests filled with wildlife. It is an ideal destination for wildlife lovers. Places of tourist interest at Rajabhat Khawa include Orchidarium, animal rescue center and a nature interpretation center. A watchtower deep inside the forest gives the best opportunity to view elephants, bisons and tigers.
Malbazar: Malbazar, also known as Mal, is a sub-divisional town, a municipality in Jalpaiguri district,located in North Bengal, India.
