The hilly river Murti makes the place an awesome one with greenery on its banks. The river has got good current in rainy season but in rest of the time a bath in the knee deep crystal clear water of the river is must for the tourists. Travelers looking for jungle safari in Gorumara National Park can spend a couple of days in Murti before heading towards jungle safari and can go for sight-seeing around the place.
Attraction at Murti: Murti is situated near by the Chapramary Wildlife Sanctuary and Gorumara National park. So, you can visit the interior jungle staying at Murti. With a sort distance there has another river, called Panjhora. In winter season many people comes here for picnic. Murti itself is a very nice tourist spot. In the river Murti, you can find out Gharials. Elephant are very much available here.

Murti is about 15 km from Lataguri town and about 18 km from Chalsa. Lataguri is just 20 minutes drive from Murti. While Lataguri getting more and more conjusted and crowded, Murti on the other hand offers a calm and peaceful stay in the forest surroundings. From its origin till it meets Jaldhaka river. The most famous watchtowers of Gorumara National Park such as Chukchuki, Medla and Jatraprasad are all located overlooking river Murti.
How to Reach Murti: You can reach Murti from New Mall Junction Railway Station. If you are traveling by air, then the nearest airport is at Bagdogra from where you can hire cars to reach Murti. Murti can also be reached from Siliguri or New Jalpaiguri Station by hiring cars.
