This Sanctuary is on the National Highway number 31 and nearly 125 kilometers from Siliguri. It is spread over an approximate area of 114 square kilometers at an average elevation of 61 meters. Dooars is home to Sanctuaries, National Parks & Tiger Reserves with a diversified range of flora and fauna. Guest can spot mighty bison, leopard, spotted deer, barking deer, sambar, hog deer, reptiles, herds of elephants, wild boars and the rarest variety of animals and birds. One can also spot pied hornbill, Racket - tailed drongo, Paradise flycatcher, Crested Eagle, Pallas's Fishing Eagle, Shikra, Jungle fowl, Peafowl, Partridges and many other bird species.
Lataguri :
Lataguri is a small town located in the Jalpaiguri district of Indian state ofWest Bengal. The village is located outside the Gorumara National Park on National Highway No. 31. Permits for entering Gorumara and Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary are given from Lataguri. The village also contains a "Nature Interpretation Center", which gives information about the flora and fauna of the area.
Chapramari Wild Life Sanctuary :
The place is a home to various other animals like Gaur, Wild boar, Leopards, Royal Bengal Tiger, Himalayan Langoor, deer, reptiles etc. The sanctuary is a paradise for bird watchers. Here one can view various types of birds like Black partridges, Green pigeon, Florican, Peafowl, Flinch, Bee-eater, Hornbill, Roller, and many more.
